Step 3: PLAB 2 visa

PLAB 2 exam is held only in Manchester UK.

So one need a visa to go to UK to give the exam.

It is called Type C Visit/Business Visitor Visa/Standard visitor visa/Visit(Clinical attachments, dental observations and PLAB/OSCE test)

It is given normally for 180 days(6 months) with Multiple entries.

There is work restriction in this visa(No work or recourse to public funds).So the expense should be taken while going to UK.

For many a doctor it's frustrating not having family members,relatives,acquaintance or friends in UK.

The good news is that actually it's  not at all necessary.

I can remember I knew only one family friend in UK but when sought help they just ignored and didn't replied.I made my mind strong and completed every step very smoothly and secured job. 

After going to UK  I met very good people who helped in lot of aspect.

People in UK are very helpful and welcoming.Whole system is perfectly organized.

The important  things to keep in mind during applying for Plab 2 visa:

                                1.An adequate amount of money to support ownself during the whole period of UK stay.

                                2.The reason for the visit is authentic(means truely going to give PLAB 2 exam)

                                3.Any sort of family tie (e.g. job in home country/any property in own name/if married wife will remain in home country etc).But this one is weakest rather clear bank account and supporting documents validating PLAB 2 booking is more than enough to get VISA. 

 Eligibility(According to UK Home office)

One must always show that:

• able to support ownself  for the duration of your trip(Bank account)
• able to pay for  return or onward journey and any other costs relating to the visit(Bank account)
• proof of any  activities one want to do in the UK(Documents related to PLAB)
• leave UK at the end of your visit (Tie to home country).Not so important but if somebody have he/she can mention.I didn't have any.

I.What amount of money should be shown on account?

Calculating the total expense during stay in UK for showing in visa application(Excluding return airfare,PLAB 2 exam fee,12 day coaching accommodation fee:because they are paid before going to UK)

Now comes a technique.Normally in Visa application  in Itinerary section(journey plan) it is said that I want visa for 1.5 to 2 months.Which includes coaching 12 days,rest of the days self practice,then exam date and just next day I will return.Though 1.5 to 2 months stay is stated in visa application,UK home office issue  it in 98% of case for 6 months .

So the bank account has to be shown with amount which is more than this 2 months' expense.

All of this calculation is only for getting visa which is only for 2 months.

After getting 6 months visa this amount increases because most of the people return home after getting job which takes in total 4-5 months.

After getting 6 month visa it is fully legal to stay upto 6 months even though during visa application its a tactic to say only 1.5 to 2 months.It lowers the required amount of money to be shown in Bank.

1.Academy(coaching) fee 450 to 600 pound

2.Accommodation fee approx. 300 to 400 pound per month

3.Food cost approx. 150 to 400 pound per month(depends upon the person)

4.Travel inside city 100 to 200 pound(depending on distance from academy to accommodation)

5.Other cost 100 pound per month

So for 2 months 2500 to 3000 pound is more than enough.So the bank account should have more than this.

I myself showed more than double of my 2 months expense.It is safer to show 5000 to 6000 pound(5 to 6 lac BDT) but people also got visa by showing exact amount of expense amount which is 3000 pound( 3.5 to 4 lac BDT) .

Showing fund to support ownself during the trip can be a bank statement or payslips from the last 6 months.

Showing adequate amount of money to support during the trip can be done by own bank account or by father/mother/brother/sister/uncle's bank account.

The criteria of bank statement:

1.There should be adequate amount of money for longer period(more than 6 months)

2.If that is not possible then an account with regular transaction of money can be shown. But for the last  4 months of that account there should be adequate amount.

If someone else is giving the money(sponsoring) then he/she need to give an  affidavit stating he/she is sponsoring.

Bank solvency certificate along with the Bank statement should also be collected and attached.

Showing the source of money is the most important task.It should be proved that the money is legal.It can be done by:

1.Showing salary certificate/pay slip 

2.Income tax return receipt

3.Describing every big transaction(debit & credit) in the bank account by proper supporting documents

II.Proving own self as a genuine PLAB 2 candidate is the next important issue

For this purpose the following documents should be given:

1.PLAB 1 booking confirmation and venue confirmation email copy

2.PLAB 1 pass confirmation email copy and result sheet

3.PLAB 2 booking confirmation email copy and payment receipt

4.IELTS  result copy

5.MBBS certificate copy

6.Internship certificate(if it is completed)/If internship is not completed a letter from Hospital Director Office can be given stating that you are current intern doctor.

9.PLAB 2 course booking letter

10.Accomodation booking letter (If anyone book accommodation from academy I will strongly advice to book them for coaching duration only,because they charge double the money,many accommodation are available nearby,in case if u dont find you can easily extend the academy accommodation)
